Maria, while reframing in the manner you suggest may work for some disputes, for others it simply papers over the "personality or work style" differences and forces the disputes underground to erupt at a different place or time with renewed vigor. This also ignores the factionalization and recruitment of other co-workers which can spread to infect an entire unit or department. Personal and work style differences can be addressed by assessing whether the dispute is substantive, structural or relational, then using appropriate mediation techniques to help the employees work out different ways of interacting, which may include "faking it 'til you make it."
