Agreement in Principle
Jeff: I agree with your assessment and as a matter of fact, caught a soundbite of lawyers talking about the pitfalls of raising client expectations...falls along the same lines. Bottom line, if billable hours are the motivation to engage the process and both parties are not sincere in their efforts to resolve expediously by this means, then there is no good faith and the long negotiation dance takes place anyway. My trust is that everything you said is the real world in every mediation. My experience is to the contrary.
