Appreciation to author and a query
Thank you for a timely and enlightening explanation of a complex situation. My friend in Indiana was injured in an accident on a farm and incurred $38,000 in medical expenses paid under his Medicare Part A and B and Supplemental carrier. The adjuster for the liability insurer will not consider the Medicare payout as part of my friend's claim, saying "his company can settle with Medicare directly for less than the face amount." Does anyone care to offer some advice. Thank you.
