I am astounded by the way my 14 year old behaves. My family consists of her and me. Her only communication is "Leave me alone" and "Go away". My needs as a person who makes the money and looks after everything are completely ignored. I cannot sleep because my daughter would not get off the computer for hours, and then would stay in the bathroom for 2 hours. I noticed that there are kids that stay at night until 3 am. What are parents suppose to do if they are abused like that? And yelled at, and get hit when they try to stop the computer? What kind of "family" is the single parent one? I wish I could get more practical advises that teach parents what to do when they are tired and have to endure that every night. I looked for mediation services, they seem to work for businesses but not for cases like mine. I found an organization in Vancouver which is far away but nothing in Toronto. What am I to do when my daughter threatens to jump from the balcony, run away or kill me when enraged? The only solution she has is - leave me alone. I wish I could really know how to respond to this and not be afraid that she is going to disappear. The worry and lack of consistent sleep makes me sad and tired and I feel helpless. I feel like a failure as a parent.

i think that this articacle will be a good help with people who children that threaten to run away. i know some one who child threaten to run away because their partenting was not fair. the other one got better treatment than the other one. if they read this artical they can get help with there problems.
