I also find that the amount of listening is naturally proportional to the amount of eye contact, the latter of which is easily relating to the perceived level of (showing) respect to the party. Because of that strong connection, I consciously try to balance out the duration of direct interaction among the parties throughout the mediation session and even caucus. Your article serves very well in highlighting this aspect. Great sharing!
