Southern Methodist University Advanced Graduate Studies in Dispute Resolution certificate program – seven courses and audited one for a total of 320 classroom hours. Attend continuing education lectures monthly. Attended the two-day 2009 Texas Association of Mediators Conference.

Experience: I began mediating in January of 2008 and have mediated a wide variety of family and civil disputes.

Professional Associations: Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services Certified Ombudsman. Certified to arbitrate BBB disputes. Member of the Southwest Conflict Resolution Network (CRN), Member of the Dallas chapter of ACR, Texas Association of Mediators 2009 Candidate for Membership, North Dallas Chamber of Commerce Member, Life Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).

Virginia Military Institute - Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering – 1952. Continued graduate level studies at Johns Hopkins and North Carolina State Universities.

U.S. Army Reserves – Artillery Lieutenant on active duty – 1952 – 1954.

Held positions as Project Engineer, Engineering Manager and Internal Technical Consultant in the development of hardware for RADAR, microwave radio and lightwave telecommunication systems. Provided technical support to Sales, Marketing, and Purchasing in their negotiations with customers and vendors and played a significant role in selling several major contracts. Worked closely with every department to solve problems, produce a quality product, and satisfy customers.

1987 – Named Engineer of the Year by the Lightwave Systems Division of Rockwell International For distinguished contributions to the enhancements of critical lightwave systems components resulting in the first commercially installed 1Gb/s lightwave system.”

Obtained eleven patents and published numerous technical articles in IEEE journals. Gained international recognition for the invention of a widely used clock recovery circuit.  

In my new career as a professional mediator, I continue to take a creative and open minded approach to solving complex problems.
