Through this web site, I want to encourage parties to enter into mediation before resorting to litigation. Thinking of suing the other party? Before you do, please stop and consider:

Many judges in Texas are refusing to try cases until an attempt is made to reach settlement through court ordered mediation. That being the situation, doesn’t it make sense to voluntarily enter mediation first?

Mediation offers many advantages over litigation:

• Mediation can provide the means for resolving issues quickly and peacefully!
• Expenses are far less.
• The proceedings are completely confidential.
• Nothing that takes place during a mediation can be used later in court if settlement is not reached.
• The parties maintain maximum control over the outcome. What they decide is final.
• They avoid forfeiting their decision making authority and gambling on the unpredictability of a judge or jury.
• Mediated settlements often contain ingredients that would never have come out of a court proceeding.

If you and the other party are interested in seeking a peaceful resolution of a dispute, I can help both of you avoid litigation and achieve that goal.

If you are already in litigation and your attorneys request that the judge assign your case to me for mediation prior to trial, I will put forth maximum effort, as a neutral third party, to assist you in reaching settlement and avoiding trial.
