CCR News Archives 2005 August 16, 2005 ABA APPROVES NEW MODEL STANDARDS FOR MEDIATORS The American Bar Association approved revisions to its Model Standards for Mediators in a meeting last week. The original document, first published in 1992-1994 by the ABA and representatives from the American Arbitration Association and the Society of Professionals in Dispute Resolution, has stood well the test of time. The new round of improvements took three years to complete. More information including a link to the Standards document is coming soon.
August 1, 2005 CENTER FOR CONFLICT RESOLUTION OPENS NEW OFFICES Over the past few weeks, the Center's staff have been busy moving the offices. Formerly housed in the Mabee Business Building on the ACU campus, the Center now has an off-site office in the Radford Hills shopping center a few blocks away from campus.

At our new location, we have new and improved offices and several mediation rooms. The following pictures are of Joey Cope's and Jerry Strader's offices and the large mediation room.

There are several openings still available for courses this fall. This semester's courses inlcude Advanced Conflict Management and Negotiation to be taught in Abilene, TX, and Conflict in the Workplace and Advanced Mediation: Family Issues to be taught at LeTourneau University in Dallas, TX.
