ATKINSON TOYOTA RECOGNIZED FOR MAJO Atkinson Toyota in Bryan, Texas assembled its management team on July 16, 2009 to receive the "In the Light of the Cross" bronze sculpture from Abilene Christian University (ACU). The presentation was made in recognition of the dealership's generous gift to the construction of the Diane and John Duncum Center for Conflict Resolution in 2007.

ONLINE STUDENTS MEET IN ABILENE January and June are becoming the most anticipated months for the faculty and staff in ACU's Department of Conflict Resolution. In each of these months online students in the Certificate in Conflict Resolution and the Master of Science in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation (MACRR) programs gather in Abilene, Texas for one week for the face-to-face Practical Skills & Theory (PST) course and Residence Session, a program requirement. DOE STUDY FINDS ONLINE LEARNING SUPERIOR TO FACE-TO-FACE In 2009, the U.S. Department of Education published Evaluation of Evidence-Based Practices in Online Learning: A Meta-Analysis and Review of Online Learning Studies. The study quantitatively reviewed 51 studies that compared student outcomes of online learning to face-to-face instruction and found that classes with online learning (whether taught completely online or blended) on average produced stronger student learning outcomes than classes with solely face-to-face instruction.
