‘Mediation’ Listed Among Top Professions

The profession of mediation made U.S. News and World Report’s 31 Careers with a Bright Futures list for 2008.  Using the criteria of job satisfaction, training difficulty, prestige, job market outlook, and pay, the top 31 careers were selected. 

With a reported median annual salary of $66,800, the profession of mediation was noted for its high job satisfaction and its viability as alternative to litigation.  The report encouraged potential mediators by stating, “if you have the gift of establishing trust, generating creative solutions, calming angry disputants, staying calm amid ambiguity and dissembling, and are willing and able to market yourself, mediation can be a win-win career for both you and your clients.”
