Lori Anne Shaw is the assistant director for program development at the Duncum Center for Conflict Resolution. She is a mediator focusing primarily on serving University faculty, staff and students through the Alternatives in Mediation (AIM) program. Additionally, Lori Anne is a speaker and trainer for Duncum Center working with local organizations and buisnesses. She edits the Duncum Center's monthly newsletter The Peace Partner and maintains the website. Lori Anne serves as an online course facilitator for the Department of Conflict Resolution facilitating negotiation and mediation, managing conflict in schools, managing conflict in the workplace, communication and conflict theory, and advanced mediation classes.
Working closely with Joey Cope on special projects, Lori Anne received $18,000 in grant monies from the United Way of Abilene and the Comunity Foundation of Abilene to develop the Conflict Managment for Adults in Poverty (CMAP) curriculum in 2008. The curriculum uses casual register to teach conflict management priciples to adults without a high school education.
Prior to working at ACU, Lori Anne volunteered as a mediator for the Duncum Center while serving as a family advocate at New Horizons. Since 2003, she has been a volunteer, life skills instructor, and continues to be a student mentor at FaithWorks of Abilene. Lori Anne attended Abilene Christian University where she received her B.S. in psychology (2004), M.S. in psychology (2006), and graduate certificate in conflict resolution (2006).
She and her husband, David, have a sweet baby girl, Maci.
