by Geoff Sharp
February 2009

From the blog mediator blah...blah...

Geoff Sharp

Jeff Thompson is a mediator with New York's Finest and he has found his calling practising his craft right there on the mean streets of the Big Apple and I was lucky enough to catch up with him when I was at Bond University late in 08.

He also blogs about mediation so click on the Coke sign to get to his great new and informative addition to our ADR blogosphere.

Jeff speaks like a New Yorker, acts like a New Yorker so he must be a New Yorker and, along with other members of the Special Projects Unit of the New York City Police Department's Community Affairs Bureau, roams the city streets causing sudden outbreaks of peaceful behaviour in well known hot spots like the UN Plaza and World Bank.

Jeff is also a mediator with Safe Horizon.

Just look at him in action at this Free Tibet gathering outside the Chinese Consulate on 12th Avenue - this is cross cultural mediation at the sharp end (Jeff is in a blue jacket and appears in shot at 1:19 and from 3:15;
