Editorial Notes on Healthcare Mediation Future

by Clare Fowler
September 2014 Clare Fowler

In Celebration of our 20th Year, Mediate.com announces The Mediation Futures Project.

Building upon the mediation foundation established over recent decades, Mediate.com’s Futures Project is gathering our best thinking about the future of the mediation practice and services.

We are now gathering future-focused thinking from leaders, practitioners, and programs in a variety of mediation sectors. We want your thoughts, ideas, and vision for mediation! Contributions to the Futures Project will be accepted in the form of focused articles, surveys, and videos.

Discuss further in the Future of Healthcare Mediation forum here.

What is Today's Mediation Universe?

We have identified mediation "sectors" to allow for focused consideration as follows:

Civil
Commercial
Community
Divorce & Family
Elder
General Mediation
Health Care
International
ODR
Public Policy
Workplace
Youth

How Can We Best Develop Mediation In These Sectors?
The purpose of Mediate.com's Mediation Futures Project is to acquire, synthesize, and share this information. In submitting an article or video to The Mediation Futures Project, we ask contributors to focus on the following questions:

  • What from our past has worked best and should be brought forward and emphasized?
  • What current promising approaches should be further developed?
  • What would you like to see the mediation field look like in 20 years?
  • What specifically should we do now to get there?

Please submit your best ideas by December 1, 2014. Materials within each sector will be synthesized and reported upon soon after the new year. Thanks for your contributions! Please submit here.
