Mediation and Collaborative Law
 Anita has been a practicing attorney specializing in family law matters in Santa Cruz since the mid 1980’s. In January 2003 Anita phased out all litigation and adversarial work and her practice is now solely devoted to mediation and collaborative practice. She has worked with thousands of families in all matters pertaining to changing and reorganizing domestic relationships, including dissolutions of marriage and domestic partnerships. Anita developed her mediation and collaborative practice skills through extensive trainings and works with parties to create and build a dispute resolution environment which is client based and centered. She has trained extensively with Gary Friedman of the Center for Law in Mediation Mill Valley, California.
Anita strongly advocates for client empowerment by educating individuals about all options available to them so they may examine and better predict the potential consequences of any given choice. Anita works with parties to develop settlement proposals which can lead to realistic and lasting agreements. Anita has lived in Santa Cruz for over 25 years. She is married and has two grown children. She continues her work in the community through her involvment in and promotion of the arts. She served for many years on the board of trustees of Shakespeare Santa Cruz and Cultural Council of Santa Cruz County. Anita is an avid and loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox but warmly welcomes all Yankees fans to her practice.
