Session 1C
Session 1C: “Mediation for the Leaders of Tomorrow: The College Students of Today”
Join Thom Massey to learn new ways in which mediation is being used to build conflict management and leadership skills for the coming generation at Stanford University and the other colleges and universities in the Bay Area Campus Consortium. Meet students in this program and learn how the Consortium is making a difference. Participate in a brainstorming session about ways that you can be a part of this cultural transformation and how you can make a difference.
Speaker: Thom Massey is Associate Dean of Students at Stanford University. Together with professors from Stanford, San Jose State University and Evergreen College, he initiated what is now called the Bay Area Campus Consortium. It includes most of the Colleges in Santa Clara and San Mateo County. The Consortium encourages its member Colleges and Universities to provide mediation training and peer services on their campuses. Thom is very active on the Stanford campus doing just that. He is ADRNC’s Gil Lopez Award honoree for 2005.
