These experienced professionals will candidly discuss mistakes trying to enter the field, and provide valuable insight, tips and suggestions.

 

Patricia Anne Brown, Executive Director, Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center. PCRC is a public benefit organization that has provided a broad array of communication, mediation, facilitation and community building services in San Mateo County for 20 years. Pat is a founding member of the California Dispute Resolution Council and its non-profit partner, the California Dispute Resolution Institute.

 

John Helie, A founding director of Mediate.com, who continues his commitment to dispute resolution and the Internet. In 1988, John founded ConflictNet, which served as an information-sharing network for the Conflict Resolution Practitioners community. A trained mediator and facilitator, John has pioneered work being done with online conflict and communication. John currently works for the Contra Costa Courts as an ADR Specialist.

 

Nancy Neal Yeend, Mediating business, employment, and real estate cases for 25 years with the John Paul Jones Group. Nationally recognized trainer, she now serves as faculty at the National Judicial College. She co-founded Silicon Valley Mediation Group, a mediation network specializing in business and technology related disputes.

 

Cost:  $25 for members of ADRNC, $35 non-members. (Add $5 if you pay at the door.)
