Attendees at ADRNC's 2004 Annual Conference were enthusiastic about his presentation, intrigued by this process, and requested additional opportunities to learn about Narrative Mediation in depth. Geared toward both beginning and experienced mediators, this workshop will provide stimulating concepts and practical techniques to enrich - or transform - your mediation practice. Narrative Mediation focuses on stories rather than underlying realities, thus getting more quickly and productively to the meaning of the situation for the parties. Narrative Mediation can allow resolution to happen more smoothly and effectively than problem-solving approaches. This distinctive method has been described as "theoretically robust and socially just." Previously the Senior Lecturer and the Director of Counselor Education at the University of Waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand; he is a co-author of Narrative Mediation: A New Approach to Conflict Resolution (2000, Jossey Bass). John Winslade presents workshops in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the U.K., Europe and the U.S.A. NARRATIVE MEDIATION: CONCEPTS AND PRACTICE COST for program.
