How do we as mediators assess when a party may not be competent or have some diminished capacity to participate in mediation? When can we accommodate the needs of parties so they can participate fully in resolving their own disputes? Many mediators have faced, or will be confronted with these challenges at some point in their practice. Shar Etebar and Rachel Goodman will facilitate a conversation on this topic, continuing a dialogue started on ADRNC’s online discussion group. This program offers you an opportunity to get together with fellow practitioners in an informal setting to discuss tough questions and capture shared experiences.
