Beyond Marketing
Laying the Foundation
for Success

Thursday 13 November 2003, 6:00-8:30 p.m.

(Networking and Light Dinner 6:00-6:30 p.m.)

American Arbitration Association

225 Bush Street, 18th Floor, San Francisco

This program will show you how to lay the foundation for building a successful mediation practice or other career in the conflict resolution field. All the marketing efforts in the world will not be effective unless you can access and harness your true inner power. We each have unique talents and abilities to contribute. We make our contribution by bringing our personal dreams into reality. This program will guide you in using your individual dreams, values – and passion – to establish a clear vision and purpose for your work. It is this which will provide a solid foundation for effective business planning, marketing, and long-term success.

Eileen Barker, J.D., is a well-known mediator and trainer. Drawing on extensive background in litigation and psychology, she began mediating in 1991 and started her mediation practice in 1995. Eileen mediates primarily in the areas of business, employment and divorce, and teaches mediation, negotiation and conflict resolution at UC Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall), Sonoma State University, and John F. Kennedy University.

Jo Anne Kellert, M.A., M.B.A, specializes in entrepreneurial coaching and organizational and leadership development. Working with individuals and groups of all sizes, including Fortune 500 companies, she helps clients create new, powerful visions and coaches them to turn their vision into reality. For over 20 years, she has guided and inspired clients, including many successful mediators, to achieve success beyond what they thought was possible.
