Thursday November 15, 2007
6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Bar Association of San Francisco
301 Battery Street, Third Floor
San Francisco, California 94111
The Association for Dispute Resolution of Northern California (ADRNC), East Bay Community Mediation (EBCM), San Francisco Community Boards, Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center (PCRC) and the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) invite you to an engaging discussion about getting into the mediation field when you feel you may not “fit the mold.”
Guest Speakers:
Yolanda Jackson, BASF Diversity Director and mediator
Selina Low, facilitator, trainer and mediator
Shar Etebar, EBCM Executive Director and mediator
Join us for a discussion about the key challenges faced by new mediators, and the role of race, gender and age in finding work in the field. Engage in conversation with our guest speakers and fellow participants to discuss strategies for how new, young and diverse mediators can establish their practice.
Please RSVP by Monday, November 12th to: adr@adrnc.net
Light refreshments will be served.
Given the current demographics of the mediation/ADR field, we recognize that young mediators and mediators of color have unique perspectives and can face particular challenges in pursuing their careers. Our hope is to address these challenges by creating networks of support within our Bay Area mediation community. This is the second in a series of ADRNC Diversity and Equity events which we hope you will attend and support!
