Session 2B: “Exploring the Enneagram: Seeing into the Heart of Conflict”
The Enneagram is an ancient and widely used system of mapping perception and behavior. It characterizes people into nine unique personality types. Developing the skills to recognize and constructively interact with the different lenses through which people perceive their reality gives us the opportunity to discover the core of what lies underneath conflict, and helps us to better guide the process of conflict resolution. Understanding the unique reactions to conflict via the Enneagram facilitates empathy, which helps to build more effective communication skills when dealing with each personality type.
Speaker: Susie Herrick is a licensed psychotherapist with a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology. She is a professional mediator and a trainer of mediators. She teaches and supervises mental health counselors and students at the University of Santa Clara, and trains mediators at Stanford. She is an expert and certified teacher of the Enneagram via Helen Palmer’s Trifold School of Enneagram Studies.
