ACR Trainers Resource Project |
Goal The goal of the ACR Trainers Resource Project is to promote quality training programs in the field of conflict resolution through providing web access to relevant training materials, methodologies and information.
History The first stage of the Trainers Resource Project will focus on resources for teaching mediation ethics. The idea for this project arose from a workshop presented in 2002 by the Texas Mediation Trainers Roundtable. The TMTR dialog on this issue made apparent how interested mediation trainers are in having access to resources for ethics education.
Why Mediation Ethics Training? There are a number of compelling reasons to focus on mediation ethics training at this time.
- Increased standardization of the mediation field is resulting in requirements for ethics training
- Mediation trainers are being called upon to develop courses in mediation ethics beyond the material addressed in the basic mediation training programs
- There is currently no clearinghouse for training resources focusing on the teaching of mediation ethics.
Use of These Resources The material on this site is intended to be shared. Our hope is that by making training materials accessible and encouraging dialogue through the “Comments” sections on this site that mediation trainers will use and improve upon these training resources.
Submitting Material For information on how to submit materials to this site, please see Instructions for Posting Comments.
Many Thanks Many thanks to Mary Thompson who developed the Trainers Resource Project and to Glenn Currier who put it on this website.
