Exploring the Spiritual Dimension of Conflict

with Eileen Barker

The spiritual dimension is rarely discussed or considered in the conflict resolution field. Yet, attending to this aspect of conflict can enable us to appreciate the profound role that conflict plays in our lives and to make use of the opportunities for personal growth that conflict presents. This in turn can help us find resolutions that are more deeply responsive to our life purposes and needs, and those of our clients. In this experiential course, we will explore the spiritual dimension of conflict, what it means, and how we can use it as a key to transforming conflict and achieving lasting resolutions. This program is intended for mediators, trainers, counselors, conflict resolution professionals, and any one else who is interested in deepening her/his understanding of conflict and the profound choices that can enable one to create peace.

Topics covered include:
· The creative force of conflict
· The role of the mind and ego in creating conflict
· Accessing the power of the heart
· Integrating spiritual values and conflict resolution practice.
