Organizational Conflict Management Section General Election Procedures
The OCM Section is conducting its 2006 election of two Section Co-Chair positions (position description attached) and nominations for the position are now open. We encourage you to review the position description below and to nominate yourself or anyone in the OCM Section whom you believe to be a qualified candidate. Nominees must be willing to serve a two-year term if elected and must be members in good standing with ACR and the OCM Section.
Nomination Procedures 1. Nominations may be submitted in writing. Please submit a brief written nomination addressing the 3 questions below.
2. Nominations and notices from nominees should include "OCM Section Elections" in the subject line and be sent to: Deb Landen OCM Section Nominations Committee
3. Nominations should include the nominee’s name, office phone number, and e-mail address of the nominator and the name, office phone number and email address of each nominee.
Voting Procedure and Election Timeline By August 28, all nominated candidates and their one-page submission should be submitted to Deb Landen at deb.landen@irs.gov. On September 22, a slate of nominees will be published on the Also on September 22, voting online begins and instructions for voting online will be e-mailed to members or mailed to those members who do not have e-mail. Balloting will be by secure electronic means, with conventional mail augmentation as required. On October 10, balloting will close. DESCRIPTION OF POSITION OCM Section Co-Chairs (2-year term of office)
The responsibilities of the Section Co-Chairs are:
Section Leadership Selection Process To be considered as an applicant for one of the two co-chair positions, nominees must have served as an active member of the OCM Section and meet the relevant criteria below. This approach is intended to build in succession planning and corporate memory to the section. If you do not meet this requirement, consider a future application to be an OCM Leadership Team Committee Chair. Minimum Qualifications for the OCM Leadership Team Chairs include: 1. Membership in good standing in ACR and in the OCM Section. 2. Given that these are functional positions, assurance that the candidate will fulfill and see through their responsibilities. This also includes attending the annual ACR conference and OCM section meetings to the extent possible. 3. Demonstrated awareness and understanding of the inter-relationships between the Section, ACR, other Sections, and other external related organizations. 4. Demonstrated positive leadership attributes. Examples of positive leadership attributes are one's: Understanding of the Section mission, vision, goals and objectives,
5. Relevant competence (defined as knowledge and experience) to the committee work candidates identify their interest in.
