4. Conflict Dynamics Profile (CDP) by Eckerd College, San Diego, CA, Friday, September 28, 2007.
The Conflict Dynamics Profile® is an assessment instrument dealing with conflict behaviors, providing powerful ways to improve self-awareness of what triggers conflict in individuals as well as how they respond to conflict. The CDP Feedback Report is user-friendly, however, the feedback can be very powerful for some individuals. Since the role of the facilitator is important to the value of the feedback, the Leadership Development Institute requires that the instrument be administered only by certified professionals.
By attending the program, participants:
- Gain an understanding of the Conflict Dynamics Profile® history, research, and key principles
- Learn how to read and analyze data in the feedback report
- Develop an ability to facilitate a feedback session using the Conflict Dynamics Profile

5. Advanced Mediator Training by The PULSE Institute, Inc. – Level Two (People Using Language Skills Effectively)
This comprehensive course reflects the most expertly designed learning methodology in the field, built upon proven principles of adult skill acquisition and tested over years of application. Among its unique features are mediation methods uniquely honed for business issues, drawing upon the work of Dr. Cheryl Picard, Dr. Daniel Dana, Dr. Nancy Love, and many more - creating the "best of the best" mediation strategies with unique and deliberate psychological intent, making it easier for new (and skilled) mediation practitioners to learn and model.
This advanced program is aimed at improving the skills of practicing mediators or for those who have completed a Foundational Course in mediation and are interested in learning and developing further. The program builds on basic skills with an emphasis on the art of managing highly charged emotional climates, using Appreciative Inquiry techniques to conduct effective pre-mediation sessions to enhance the success of the mediation process, techniques for dealing with angry participants and when multiple parties are at the table.
Learn the POWER Tool to increase your ability to unearth underlying interests (as presented at the ACR 2006 Conference). The advanced 40-hour experience provides demonstration with experienced mediators, role play, and opportunities to practice using cases from real-life situations.
Pre-requisite experience: prior completion of 40-hour foundational course through the PULSE Institute or comparable 40-hour program. NOTE: Level One, Basic Workplace Mediator Training is conducted concurrently with another instructor during the same timeframe for those who wish to develop workplace mediation skills or revisit foundational skills.
