ACR Los Angeles Chapter Mission Statement

ACR-LA’s Mission Statement

Our Mission is to take proactive measures to ensure that our communities, public and private sector organizations and institutions are fully aware of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), a peaceful, alternative means to resolve conflict.  We will ensure that all have knowledge and understanding of conflict resolution procedures and processes, as well as its effectiveness.  ACR LA will seek the assistance and participation of the leaders in the community, including business, elected and appointed officials, the electronic and print media, educational institutions and other entities to reach the mass population of Southern California and its public and private sector organizations.

We are committed to establishing a climate in the business and lay communities that can help improve relationships among our diverse California population.  Specifically, ACR LA will promote understanding of mediation, collaborative decision–making and arbitration as primary methods to resolve conflict and disputes that may arise within the family, the workplace, in educational institutions, religious groups and other venues.  ACR LA will utilize the skills, abilities and the professional expertise of its members to serve as expert Mediators, Arbitrators, and Collaborative Decision-Makers to serve Southern California and the national and international communities.  ACR LA will also develop broad educational opportunities, including “mentoring with the masters,” to help new mediators gain practical experience needed to become successful and to make a positive  impact   on the constructive disposition of  conflicts in Southern California.
