CRISIS INTERVENTION HELP LINE
The Crisis Intervention Section of ACR offers a Crisis Intervention Help Line as a members-only benefit.
If you are currently facing, or believe you may face a violent situation in the future in a mediation, a negotiation or an intervention; or if you need consultation on situations you frequently run into, then our Crisis Intervention Help Line may be of use to you. E-mail the Chair at tjaeckle@bellsouth.net and we will contact one of our resources for you.
You can then discuss your concerns, either by e-mail or by telephone. All conversations are confidential within current legal guidelines.
For example, you may have questions about:
-
Assessment: How to more accurately assess (i.e., neither overreact nor under-react) threat and violence potential. How to identify indicators of suicide potential.
-
Proactive Approaches: Steps to take to insure safety if conditions of threat or violence arise. Proactive strategies to use should a client become so angry that you fear for your own safety.
-
Reactive Strategies: How to respond to a person you believe may be suicidal. What can be done during a mediation session if you suspect there is continuing domestic violence between the parties.
In your e-mail, please indicate both a return email address and a telephone number where you can be reached. Depending on the question, we will either respond directly to you or will refer your question to someone who will be an appropriate resource. We will respond either by e-mail or telephone, depending on whether e-mail or telephone conversation is the appropriate and efficient communication channel.
