COMMERCIAL SECTION LEADERSHIP

 

 

 KURT L. DETTMAN, Section Co-Chair, kdettman@c-adr.com, is the Principal of Constructive Dispute Resolutions, a consulting firm specializing in the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution in the construction industry. Mr. Dettman is formerly Associate Project Director for Claims Resolution of the Central Artery/Tunnel Project (CA/T) in Boston, Massachusetts. In that capacity, he was responsible for the resolution of all construction claims and change issues on the project. Mr. Dettman provides leadership for the Section's Teleseminar Program.

FRANCES I. MOSSMAN, JD, AICP, Section Co-Chair
Hawaii.IDR.group@earthlink.net is the President of Hawaii International Dispute Resolution Group LLC, which helps organizations from different countries work together using multicultural dispute prevention and resolution strategies and designs collaborative systems.  Ms. Mossman is a facilitator, mediator and urban and land use planner. She is the Chair of the Section's International Committee.

CINDY ALM, Membership Committee cynthiaalm@hawaii.rr.com, is an attorney, mediator and facilitator.  She is a transactional attorney with experience in commercial real estate sales and leasing, including transactions between US and foreign buyers and sellers. She also mediates business and real estate disputes, and facilitates strategic planning meetings and board retreats. She has served as a panel member for the State of Hawaii's Medical Claims Conciliation Panel program. Ms. Alm is the section's Diversity & Equity Point Person.
RICHARD J. DEWITT, Program Committee and Co-Chair of the Advanced Commercial Mediation Institute(ACMI),rdewitt@dewittgrossman.comMr. DeWitt serves as a mediator and arbitrator in domestic and international matters including commercial, civil and employment disputes. He is a member of the AAA's National Roster of Neutrals serving on its complex case panel, its commercial, employment and technology panels, and its panel of Mediators. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators and a Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators. Mr. Dewitt is a principal in DeWitt Law / Resolve Disputes in Coral Gables (Miami), Florida.

JEROME ALLAN LANDAU, Educational Program Committee and Co-Chair of the Advanced Commercial Mediation Institute (ACMI), JAL@landaulaw.org. Mr. Landau has mediated and arbitrated matters since the mid 1970s, and served as legal counsel to domestic and international law clients, with a major emphasis in the areas of business, commercial, transactional, real estate, civil and construction matters and family partnerships. A passionate supporter of non-litigated conflict resolution he serves as a Judge Pro Tem of the Arizona Superior Court; is certified to a U.S. District Court Arbitrator; is a member of the AAA National Roster of Neutrals serving on its commercial, construction/real estate panels, the AAA Panel of Mediators and a AAA Advisory Council; is certified by the International Mediation Institute and serves on other national ADR Neutral Rosters for civil, construction and family partnership arbitration and mediation matters. Together with Richard DeWitt, Mr. Landau Co-Founded and Co-Chairs the ACR Commercial Section's Advanced Commercial Mediation Institute (ACMI) and its annual two-day international ACM Conferences.

WILLIAM N. MILLER,  adrwill@comcast.net, is a commercial Mediator and Arbitrator in his 25th year of private practice in ADR, including use of Internet Technologies with his signature Desktop Dispute Resolution(DDR). He is the former Director of Dispute Resolution for the Virginia State Division of Consumer Protection and Co-Chair of the National Consumer Disputes Advisory Committee of the American Arbitration Association. Mr. Miller is Chair of the Section's Ethics Committee.

THOMAS J. OSWALD, Tom@TomOswald.com, is a Mediator and Conflict Resolution Consultant who handles commercial and civil court cases both domestically and internationally and is employed as a court Mediator at a County Seat. He is a former Co-Chair of the Commercial Section.

MICHELE S. RILEY, J.D., RileyADR@yahoo.com serves as a court-approved mediator and arbitrator for the New York state and federal courts, handling disputes in the areas of commercial transactions and corporate matters. She is a member of the American Arbitration Association’s National Roster of Neutrals serving on its Panel of Mediators. Ms. Riley also arbitrates disputes for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). She complements her ADR practice by teaching courses on negotiation and mediation at Columbia University. She has extensive international experience having practiced law with a focus on cross-border transactions in both New York and Tokyo, Japan and is formerly General Counsel of a U.S.-based subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation.

LEIGH ANN ROBERTS, lroberts@forwardfocasmediation.com, is an Attorney, Mediator & Non-profit consultant for Forward Focus, PLLC where she provides an array of legal and conflict resolution services for business and non-profit organizations.  Ms. Roberts is former Tennessee Assistant Attorney General, Consumer Protection  Division.

JAMES A. ROSENTEIN, jrosenstein@earthlink.net, a retired transactional lawyer, now specializes in dispute mediation and facilitated, collaborative problem-solving in complex multi-party matters, typically involving governmental bodies and non-profits as well as for-profit entities. He has written and spoken extensively on various negotiation and mediation topics. He is currently President of the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter of ACR and co-chair of ACR's Task Force on Education of the Public. Mr. Rosenstein served as President of the ACR Board in 2008-09.
ANGELIA TOLBERT, ESQ.,  angeliatolbert@yahoo.com, is Founder and President of Absolute Resolution Services, Inc. providing mediation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution services to court systems, government, consumer groups, businesses, and attorneys and concerning employment, securities, contracts, finance, trust, real estate, insurance, construction, personal injury, family, divorce and other legal issues. Ms. Tolbert also serves on the ACR Board of Directors.
