Conference on September 18, 2008 at the Arizona Biltmore:
AACR is hard at work to produce an exciting conference at the Biltmore next September. We are coordinating with Arizona Town Hall’s annual fundraising luncheon, and working with other organizational partners (the AZ humanities council, the EEOC, ASU, and the Udall Center to name a few).
CAN WE TALK? TOOLS FOR CREATING CIVIL DISCOURSE is the theme for the day that begins at 8:30 with a keynote speaker on the topic of deliberative democracy followed by two workshop sessions. The first session highlights inspiring case studies where effective collaborative and facilitative methods have been utilized to resolve difficult problems in the areas of the environment, employment, community, and family. The second session gives attendees the opportunity to participate in an interactive demonstration of specific facilitative models such as consensus building, interest-based problem solving, focused conversation, and community forums.
If you have questions about the conference, contact Susan Bulfinch at sbulfinch@aol.com.
