Taylor ADR---"Smart Listening"

Taylor ADR provides a range of services including mediation, consulting, "coaching", arbitration, special master, court referee, and hopsital peer review hearing officer services.  Taylor ADR has a unique mix of professionals.  William "Zak" Taylor, a nationally recognized trial attorney with 30+ years experience and Marlou Belyea (Taylor), a clinical pyschologist and former university professor, have extended their partnership of 35 years of marriage into providing services as the prinicpals of Taylor ADR.  

William "Zak" Taylor

Zak Taylor is an attorney with extensive experience handling large, complex, "bet the company" cases.  He has a broad range of experience in large class actions, antitrust, securities, ERISA, intellectual property (trade secrets, trademark, and patent), financial services, contract, insurance coverage, mass tort, and other business disputes.  What distinguishes Zak's experience, however, is his breadth of litigation experience.  He has handled probate and will contest, family law, tort, bankruptcy, government regulatory, government benefit, civil rights, real estate, tax and white collar criminal defense matters.  Coupled with deep experience in the health care, petroleum, retail and insurance fields, this broad exposure combined with the depth of "big case" experience sets Zak apart.

Marlou Belyea  

Marlou Belyea is an experienced clinical psychologist and educator.  Holding two Ph.D's one in history and one in clinical pyschology, Marlou has a broad range of resources that inform her mediation, special master and referee services.  For many years Marlou maintained a private psychotherapy practice while teaching in a graduate psychology program training therapists.  Her areas of focus include workplace and organizational issues, dispute resolution coaching and training, family issues and court appointed services in family and juvenile cases.

 
Location

Taylor ADR is located in the San Francisco Bay Area, but provides some services throughout California, and some services throughout the United States.

We've chosen "smart listening" as the catch phrase of our practice as it includes what adds special value to our services.  First of all, we "listen."  This goes beyond just paying attention and comprehending what you tell us.  It means probing and digging to get at the real issues and to provide you with only the services you really need.  We do not approach an engagement with a process in mind, but work with you to define and to determine what process and services are best suited to the circmustances.  Second, we listen "smart."  This involves applying all our professional and life experiences to truly understand what is being communicated, putting that communication in context and determining its significance and meaning.
