Child Support Guidelines

As part of the Parenting Plan, parents will have to state how much money will be paid as child support.   The State of Tennessee has recently revised the Child Support Guidelines.  Since both parents are responsible for the support of their child, these calculations take into account the income of both parents.  If you would like to estimate the amount of support that parents will pay in a divorce or parenting situation,  click on the link below and follow the directions for the Child Support Worksheet.  As this is a fairly complicated formula, it is likely that your attorney or a mediator will have to help you with this process, but it may at least provide a working estimate.

To download the calculator click here:  CHILD SUPPORT CALCULATOR

(The directions provide for you to SAVE the calculator to your own computer's desktop, so that you can run calculations more than one time.  Once you have saved it to your desktop, click on the ICON and you will be directed to the first page of the calculator.  Fill in the required information at each prompt and it will calculate the child support.  The amount will vary, depending upon the days each parent has the child(ren), the amount of health insurance and the amount of money spent for the activities for each child.  It is also possible for deviations to provide for more or less child support, depending upon the circumstances.  We will discuss all these issues in the mediation session, but this gives you a general calculation for child support.)
