Linda Warren Seely of Jackson, Tennessee has been a family attorney for the majority of her career.  She has been a Supreme Court Listed Rule 31 Mediator since 2001 and  has successfully mediated over 100 cases.  She has been a relentless champion for children and families who are unable to access legal representation.  She believes that mediation can be  extremely helpful to families who do not want a contested divorce but want to parent their children together into the future.   

Linda  shares her time between Memphis and Jackson. In Memphis she is currently the director of the Internal Operations and Pro Bono Projects for the Memphis Area Legal Services. In Jackson where she primarily does family mediation, she works with her husband, Carl Seely.   Prior to holding the Legal Services position in Memphis, she virtually  held the same position for the West Tennessee Legal Services, Inc. in Jackson.  From 1989 through 1997 she she worked at Memphis Area Legal Services in a similar position as well as providing legal assistance and education to Senior Citizens in Tipton, Fayette, Lauderdale and Shelby Counties.  From 1983 to 1987 she was either in private practice or with Legal Care for Senior Citizens. 

Linda has done extensive work through many bar associations.    Since 2001 she has served on the Board of Governors of the Tennessee Bar Association  and has been liaison to the Family Law Section, Juvenile and Children’s Law Section and Section Chair for the Juvenile and Children’s Law Section.  In addition she served on  the Access to Justice Committee where she received the TBA President’s Award from the Access to Legal Counsel Committee.  She served on the TBA Association for Juvenile Justice Commission in 2001. She was President of the Tennessee Lawyers Association for Women from 2005 – 2006.  She was president of the Ann Schneider Chapter of the Lawyer’s Association for Women from 1999 – 2004.  She was a Presenter at the ABA Equal Justice Conference from 2 2002 – 2006.  She presently serves on the Memphis Bar Association Board of Directors until 2009. 

In 1997 she was in the Leadership Jackson Class.  From 2003 to 2006 she served on the Board of Directors for Hannah’s Hope, an affiliate of the United Methodist Church.  In June 2006  she was selected by Women’s Magazine in Memphis, 50 Women Who  Make a Difference.
