![]() Geoff Sharp has been involved in commercial litigation for the past 18 years both in New Zealand and in Australia, and until the end of 1998 he was a litigation partner with one of New Zealand’s largest commercial litigation practices.
He has specialised in contract, securities, banking and commercial property litigation; and in the early 1990’s began to develop a mediation practice, which he eventually left his firm to pursue at the Bar.
![]() He is now a barrister specialising in commercial mediation work and has mediated hundreds of contentious matters over the past 10 years. Geoff is on the advanced panel of LEADR mediators and on the AMINZ panel of specialist mediators.
Geoff is admitted in the following Courts:
Mediators. The mission of this global Academy is “ to define standards and qualifications for the professional mediator of commercial disputes and to promote the mediation process as the preferred means of resolving disputes”In January 2003 Geoff was appointed Principal Mediator to the Weathertight Homes Resolution Service, with responsibility for the New Zealand government mediation service and its 20 contract mediators dealing with the ‘leaky building’ crisis in New Zealand.
