Experience: 

Extensive experience mediating and litigating claims involving business and commercial, employment, construction and construction defect, real estate, contract, insurance, personal injury, product, premises, professional liability and other issues, including numerous multi-party and other complex matters.  Over twenty years as litigator and director of litigation.  Construction industry and related experience over 30 years.  HR/employment experience over 15 years.

Over his career, Mr. Bloss has mediated hundreds of cases to successful resolution and has represented individuals, businesses, insureds, insurers, general contractors, subcontractors, owners, developers, engineers, architects, employers, manufacturers, and property owners in State and Federal Court litigation.  For ten years, Mr. Bloss was Senior Counsel and Director of Litigation for the largest privately-owned homebuilder in the United States, an employer of over 1000, where he was also responsible for employment and insurance matters, claims, and construction contracts.

Dispute Resolution Experience: Mr. Bloss is a highly-rated and successful full-time mediator of a wide variety of litigated disputes, with special expertise in business, commercial, employment, construction, real estate and personal injury matters.  Mr. Bloss is recognized for his calm mediation style and organized approach to complex, emotional and technical disputes, his quick grasp of complicated issues, and his ability to bring closure to disputes thought to be unresolvable.  Appointed by the Los Angeles City Council, Mr. Bloss served four years as Chairman of a Specific Plan Citizens Advisory Committee, achieving, after contentious debate, unanimous consensus regarding hillside development standards, and was awarded the Mayor’s Certificate of Commendation.
