A Plaintiff’s Lawyer’s Perspective on Malpractice Mediation
presented by
John J. Kennedy
Kennedy, Johnson, D'Elia, & Gillooly, LLC in New Haven, Connecticut
In our November teleseminar we heard from a hospital risk manager who talked about how he typically looks at mediation as an option in medical malpractice cases. Do lawyers representing the other side see mediation differently? In this teleseminar, John Kennedy, a trial lawyer who represents plaintiffs in malpractice cases, will share his views on mediation: what cases it’s appropriate for, and at what stage; what its advantages and disadvantages are for the plaintiff side; and what he looks for in a mediator.
John Kennedy, a founding partner in the firm of Kennedy, Johnson, D'Elia, & Gillooly, has practiced law in New Haven for 32 years, representing thousands of clients and trying numerous civil cases in the Connecticut state and federal courts. His practice includes representation of injured persons in automobile accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, and product liability cases, as well as other civil disputes.
He is a member of the New Haven County Bar Association and served as president of that organization in 1991 and 1992. He also participates in the American Association for Justice and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association of which he has been a member of the Board of Governors since 1990 and is currently President Elect. In addition, Mr. Kennedy is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
The call-in number for the teleseminar is 1-877-311-2008 (toll-free). The passcode is 759505.
Although we expect to post a recording of the teleseminar on the Section’s web page for those who cannot be on the call, we hope many of you can participate in what promises to be an interesting and topical discussion.
Please join us for this useful and interesting discussion and happy holidays!
