Conflict Resolution Day/Week Committee

Chair: Barb Riley

The CR Day/Week Committee is busy planning events to increase public awareness about conflict resolution and its many benefits. Conflict Resolution Day is an international celebration held annually on the third Thursday in October. The date for Conflict Resolution Day 2007 is October 18.

Governor Sonny Perdue has proclaimed October 14-20, 2007, Conflict Resolution Week in Georgia This year the committee is planning to target middle and high schools. A conflict resolution poster contest, a "Peace Cafe"; where students will have an opportunity to view a film and discuss its impact with experienced mediators, and a celebration for Georgia's conflict resolvers at the Capitol are among the planned activities. Join in and promote conflict resolution in your community!

Membership Committee

Chair: A.J. Carubbi

One of the longest standing and most active committees of ACR-GA, the programs committee offers great opportunities to play a role in growing the Chapter and building professional relationships. Volunteers are needed to help the committee's goal of increasing membership by 20% by December 2007. Membership Committee volunteers help develop strategies to increase membership by identifying member needs and interests, developing recruitment campaigns and identifying incentives that increase membership value. The Membership Committee is responsible for processing membership applications and handles registration at all ACR-GA events. This committee is perfect for those who would like to help out at meeting, but are unable to make a huge time commitment.

Programs Committee

Co-Chairs: Brenda Wall and Sue Heerin

ACR-GA is proud of the variety of stimulating, informative and interesting meeting as presentations it offers. The Programs Committee is behind the scenes making these events a success. Volunteers assist the Chair with identifying speakers and meeting topics that appeal to the needs of our members. Lend your creativity by helping with planning for the highlight of the committee's year- our Annual Membership Meeting in December. If you are a good at event planning or enjoy meeting notable CR practitioners, this committee is for you!
